Sorry to hear about the headaches!!! Did they go away when you stopped paleo? How much did you change your diet between “normal” and paleo?
Normally paleo cuts out a lot of the food triggers for migraines (caffeine, alcohol, cheese, gluten). So it leads me to guess it could be a few things:
1. You may not have been eating enough on paleo (especially of the lean protein and green veggies)
2. Your switch to paleo diet maybe incorporated a food type that you didn’t regularly eat before, but you have a mild allergy/intolerance to. I’ve heard nuts and some greens (especially for folks with IBS) can trigger migraines. So perhaps you were eating more of those and had an intolerance that had previously gone unnoticed
3. You may not have stayed hydrated enough
Every body is different. Not everyone can tolerate or perform their best on paleo, just like some can’t tolerate vegan or gluten or sugar free. So focus on what makes you feel your best. If you try paleo again, keep a journal and see if you can pinpoint the trigger. Also check with your MD if you keep getting the migraines cause you may have an allergy or something else going on.
